Thanks for everybody that came out to the CSAHS-SA Gala this past weekend on March 22. This is the first time that we have ever organized a formal on this scale and we were really impressed at how everything turned out. We want to thank all of our clubs for giving us their support as well as the CSAHS-SA GALA Committee members that helped make this happen. It was a huge success and the student alliance along with the CSAHS-SA Gala Committee would like to extend a warm thank you as well as a congratulations to all the award winners!
Below are the 2014 award winners:
This award will be given to groups with 2 or more CSAHS students engaged in the core organizing team of a particular event and/or initiative on/off campus. The group demonstrates involvement, dedication, and commitment in various volunteer activities. Selection will be based on contributions to the college, as well as overall to the campus and also to other communities’ abroad (this award is for groups of 2+).
Award recipients: Global Youth Volunteer Network, Sustainability Week Committee
This award will be given to individual CSAHS students engaged in a particular initiative/event that take place both on and/or off campus. The individual demonstrates involvement, dedication, and commitment in various volunteer activities and may be a full/part-time student (this award is for individuals).
Award recipients: Sarah Vincett (International Development), Chantale Pomerleau (Psychology)
This award is given out to a CSAHS-SA ASO member that was nominated by each of the organization’s themselves. The individual has demonstrated dedication, commitment, and discipline to their group. Additionally, he/she showed strong and excellent student leadership among the ASO, and continue to facilitate as well as foster the advancement of their group.
Award recipient: Alexia Ferraro (Criminal Justice & Public Policy)
This award is given out to a CSAHS-SA ASO group that has organized an event/initiative involved with their respective faculty members. The event/initiative helps further and strengthen the relationship between their ASO and their program. Strong and positive relationship with program faculty is important, as it helps in facilitating dialogue between them and students to further conversations to better the program at the University of Guelph.
Award recipient: International Development Society
This award is given out to a CSAHS-SA ASO group that has organized various events/initiatives to strengthen the development and add to the professional/academic experiences of the individuals as well as the organization as a whole.
Award recipients: Criminal Justice & Public Policy Society
This award is given out to a CSAHS-SA ASO group that has raised the most amount of money for the University of Guelph’s United Way campaign.
Award recipients: Geography Society
This award is given out to a CSAHS-SA ASO group that has organized over 10 different academic/social events.
Award recipients: Child Youth & Family Society, Applied Human Nutrition Society, Geography Society
